About This
- Prefers rich, well-drained soil, benefits from some afternoon shade when young, and is resistant to most pests and diseases once established.
- The Paw Paw tree produces large, greenish fruits with a custard-like texture and a unique flavor that blends banana, mango, and melon. The fruit is a sought-after delicacy
- Plant in well-drained soil with partial shade to full sun exposure. Provide regular watering, especially during dry periods. Mulching helps retain soil moisture. Paw Paw trees are relatively low-maintenance but may benefit from occasional pruning for shape and to remove damaged branches
- Paw Paw trees (Asimina triloba) have large, tropical-looking leaves that contribute to their unique appearance in temperate climates
- USDA Hardiness Zones: Typically Zones 5-8
