About This

• [Feathery Smoke-Like Plumes] Produces distinctive pink, feathery seed heads that resemble drifting smoke. Each plume rises on slender stems 12-18 inches tall. A unique focal point in late spring through summer.
• [Drought Tolerant Ground Cover] Thrives in dry, well-drained soils once established. Forms low-growing mats of fern-like, semi-evergreen foliage. Perfect for xeriscaping, rock gardens, and dry meadows .
• [Native Perennial for Natural Gardens] Returns year after year in zones 4-9. Low-growing foliage reaches 6 inches tall, with flower stems extending to 15 inches. Spreads slowly from short rhizomes—not aggressive .
• [Self-Seeding and Dried Flowers] Plants self-sow readily in favorable conditions, returning year after year with minimal effort. Feathery plumes dry beautifully—harvest for everlasting arrangements and dried bouquets.
• [Sun and Seed Needs] Requires full sun to partial shade with well-drained, sandy or loamy soil. Seeds need cold stratification—mix with moist sand and refrigerate for 4-6 weeks before sowing. Sow on surface, press gently. Germinates in 3-6 weeks at 65-70°F . Hardy in zones 4-9.
• [For Home Gardeners] Suitable for beginners and experienced gardeners. Low maintenance once established. Perfect for rock gardens, native plantings, and dry meadows.
