Illuminati Sparks Mockorange is a flowering deciduous shrub prized for its lustrous green variegated foliage and fragrant, white, cream-colored flowers that resemble orange blossoms in the late spring to summer.
Grows in USDA zones 4-7 and prefer full sun to part sun and well-drained soil. In addition to their ornamental value, Mockorange shrubs can also be used for hedging, screening, or as a specimen plant.
The scientific name for mockorange, Philadephus, translates to "brotherly love". The common name, mockorange, comes from the fragrance of the flowers, which indeed resembles orange blossoms. Don't let the name fool you, this beauty is cold hardy and can be grown in far colder climates than actual citrus oranges.
Botanical Name and or Other Common Names: Philadelphus coronarius 'SMNPVB' USPPAF, Illuminati Sparks Mockorange.
