Artic Rose Azalea is a medium growing evergreen shrub prized for its abundant clusters of brilliant rosy-red flowers and colorful variegated dark green foliage.
Blooms mid-season, around May or June and has a long blooming period with flowers lasting 2-3 weeks.
Grows in a mounded habit, this beauty will reach 3-4 feet tall and 4-5 feet wide when matured. It is ideal for use as an accent, in groupings, colorful hedge, foundation plantings, woodland borders, butterfly gardens, Asian gardens, and cottage gardens.
Lives in zones 5-8 and prefers full sun to partial sun with at least 5 hours of sunlight a day. It will appreciate some afternoon shade or filtered sun in the warmer climates such as zones 7 and 8.
